A recent study by an independent research firm confirms that the community of High Point--which incorporates many resource-conserving features--is "saving substantial amounts of water, electricity and natural gas" and therefore paying lower utility bills.
The study looked at 1,525 housing units in 2007 and concluded that the extra costs associated with incorporating green features are a good investment in the long run.
