Comcast, which helped sponsor the Reel Grrls video about the High Point Neighborhood Center, has announced that Reel Grrls will be featured on their customer bill envelope to hit homes between Jan. 17 and Feb. 16. According to Comcast, this will hit about 1 million households in the greater Seattle area.
Customers who check their Local On Demand channels will be able to view three Reel Grrls videos, including the one about the High Point Neighborhood Center.
TAKE A PEEK AT THE VIDEO -- it's only three and a half minutes long and came about as a result of three forces of philanthropy:
- Neighborhood House, a nonprofit dedicated to helping diverse communities in King County attain their goals of self-sufficiency, health, financial independence and community building. In times of need, people turn to us.
- Van Jones -- New York Times bestselling author, subject of a recent New Yorker article and keynote speaker at our annual breakfast -- is the voice behind the images.
- Reel Grrls, a local nonprofit that empowers young women to realize their talent, power and influence through media production. Keep in mind that the producers of this video didn't work at a fancy video production company, but instead were local girls, some as young as 13!
