About the Center
Located in the heart of the High Point community, the High Point Center is a home for anti-poverty services that strengthen High Point families and support the development of a healthy, vibrant and green community.
The center is also a place where families from all walks of life can gather and share food, stories and experiences. It's a community living room for everything from town meetings to neighborhood potlucks, book clubs to Head Start classes.
Our Services
The High Point Center is one of Neighborhood House’s six locations in King County and offers the agency’s comprehensive web of services and programs. Services at the center are designed to help low-income people in High Point attain self-sufficiency and include Head Start, Early Head Start, youth tutoring, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, job training, adult education and many others.
Green Features
In addition to offering our critical social services, the High Point Center will double as a state-of-the-art environmental education facility. The 20,000-square-foot facility is designed to meet LEED® Gold standards and will offer environmental education through tours, workshops and resources aimed at low-income communities.
Other environmentally sustainable features of the HPC include:
- The largest solar panel array atop a building in the entire state of Washington
- A ground source heat pump system
- Triple-paned windows
- Low-flow water fixtures
- Lease agreements that require all tenants to recycle and use ENERGY STAR products.
