The Voice newspaper
Giving voice to the concerns of low-income individuals
The Voice, the newspaper of Neighborhood House, provides news and information of interest to low-income individuals, residents of Seattle and King County public housing, agencies providing social services in the area and all other interested parties.
By fostering a deeper understanding of the complex issues surrounding public housing and the low-income community, we contribute to Neighborhood House's mission of building self-sufficiency.
The Voice is a free, 16-page monthly paper. Founded in 1981, we trace our history back to newsletters published for individual Seattle Housing Authority garden communities. Today, each issue of the paper includes articles translated into six languages, local and national news, news specific to public housing communities, feature stories and health information. Our circulation is over 12,000 and growing.
Article submissions are always welcome. We reserve the right to edit all submissions. Submit articles via mail, fax or e-mail. The deadline for the upcoming month's issue is the 15th of the current month.
