Neighborhood House High Point Center earns national distinction
The Neighborhood House High Point Center has won a 2010 National Association for Interpretation (NAI) Media award for its environmental interpretive signage. Neighborhood House, in conjunction with project partners Stella Color and Cascade Interpretive Consulting LLC, received a second-place award in the Interior Exhibits category, for the High Point Center's environmental learning signage.
The state-of-the-art building in West Seattle's High Point neighborhood is a community gathering place, a home for neighborhood services, and an environmental learning center. Visitors learn about the building's many green features, including a rooftop array of solar panels and a ground-source heat pump, through interpretive signage and docent-led tours. Stella Color and Cascade Interpretive Consulting LLC partnered with Neighborhood House to create the building's environmental learning center.
The award will be formally presented at the NAI National Workshop Nov. 16-20.
