What Matters Most -- Our 11th Annual Breakfast Celebration

7:30 - 9 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012
Washington State Convention Center

Special Keynote by
Ron Sims
Former Deputy Secretary of HUD and Former King County Executive

We’re pleased to welcome Ron Sims back to the Washington he calls home, and even more pleased that he’s in time to keynote our 11th annual breakfast event!

Appointed by President Obama and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Ron Sims served for two years as the Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Prior to his appointment at HUD, Sims served for 12 years as the elected Executive of Martin Luther King, Jr. County in Washington State, the 13th largest county in the nation with 1.8 million residents and 39 cities.

Since his keynote address at our first breakfast event 11 years ago, Sims has gained national recognition for his work on the integration of environmental, social equity, and public health policies in King County.  He has bolstered the climate in which Neighborhood House serves its mission to help diverse communities of people with limited resources attain their goals for self-sufficiency, financial independence, health, and community building.
