About the successfully completed Capital Campaign
THE NEED
The Rainier Vista community is in the midst of completely being redeveloped and many of its existing buildings - including Head Start classrooms and Neighborhood House offices - will be demolished. Neighborhood House needed to build a new facility so we could continue to give people the support they need to break free from poverty, achieve their hopes and dreams and gain valuable skills in job development, education and family support. The children still needed warm, nutritious meals at NH Head Start facilities, education programs to prepare them for elementary school and family support to enhance their lives so they can grow up to be positive, strong members of their families and community. Through public funding and private sources, we were able to build a beautiful new building. We would not have had a home without your help!
THE GOAL
The goal of our campaign was to build a facility that will fully re-establish and expand social service and early childhood education space in the Rainier Vista community. To fund this critical community need, we raised $3.2 million.
RESULTS
With the development and construction of a new, larger facility at Rainier Vista, Neighborhood House can:
- Increase services to low-income families living in Rainier Vista and the surrounding community: By expanding our programs, 1,100 additional neighborhood residents can benefit from educational, employment and family services.
- Improve service quality: The ability to provide comprehensive services in one location will be a key factor in helping to increase the skills and knowledge of Rainier Vista families and individuals.
- Increase efficiency and cost effectiveness: Unifying our programs under one roof enables us to be a conveniently located one-stop source for centralized resources and solutions.
