Title of volunteer position: ESL- Citizenship Classroom Volunteer
Number of volunteers requested: 2-6
Goal of position: To assist clients in obtaining U.S. Citizenship by preparing them for the citizenship interview and improving their English language skills.
SAMPLE ACTIVITIES
1.) Lead small group instruction.
2.) Tutor students one-on-one.
3.) Assist instructor with general classroom activities.
TIMEFRAME
Length of commitment: ongoing
Hours per week: Varies (2-8)
Scheduling: At discretion of volunteer
Needed: Tuesday 4-6 p.m. /Wednesday noon-2 p.m./ Wednesday 4-6 p.m./ Saturday 10 a.m.-noon
Work site: NH Greenbridge/Wiley & NH High Point
QUALIFICATIONS
1.) Positive attitude.
2.) Willingness to lead small group instruction.
3.) Patience and tolerance for language and cultural misunderstandings.
